Treasure Hunt and BBQ

1pm Join the AC (no cost), meet others, and get your boats rigged.

2 pm: Treasure Hunt - Answer one clue to lead you to the next, and the clues may be anywhere, on a buoy, on an island or in the clubhouse. Warning - sailing involved!

4:30pm (ish) BBQ will be going - bring your own food to cook. The bar will be open!

“There's someone coming towards us. What should I do?”

When boats are approaching each other, there are a few simple rules as to who has right of way, and what should you do. Understand the rules, and then try to put them into practice.

1pm Meet other the rest of the AC, and get your boats rigged. Help with rigging will be available from 1pm to 2pm for those who need it.


2 pm: Briefing, followed by on the water practice.

4:30 (ish) Debrief in the Bar
19/05/2007 - Admiral's Club: Follow My Leader and Recovery Practice
Could you rescue someone in the water?

As part of the on the water activities for the BSC Open Day, the AC will be having a Follow My Leader tour around the lake, followed by practice in recovering objects lost overboard, whether it be your crew, your helm or your hat. Could you rescue someone in the water? It's a vital skill that improves with practice.

1pm Join the AC (no cost), meet others, and get your boats rigged. Help with rigging will be available from 1pm to 2pm for those who need it.


2 pm: Follow My Leader around the Burghfield lake

4 pm (ish) : Recovery Practice: Briefing on how to approach and pick up objects or people in the water, followed by on the water practice.
